Code 553 Simrad Specific Instruction

The following instructions are specific to Garmin MFD units and should be followed when seeking to resolve a 553 fault.

Garmin

A. Determine if all GPS Antennas are connected to the same NMEA 2000 network via the MFD

1. Menu > Boat Network > Devices

B. Increase accuracy of available Antennas

Simrad has the ability to use multiple types of satellites which can help increase accuracy. Go to:

1. Menu > Settings > This Device > iGPS > Expert Settings
2. From this page it should be quick to select WAAS as well as GPS, GLONASS, QZEE, BEIDOU and GALILEO.
