8.7 Aluminum Hulls

Please review the list of approved MMAs paying attention to the need for primers based upon manufacturers recommendations for this substrate. For Aluminum Hulls Seakeeper Ride does NOT approve the use of epoxies.

For aluminum hulls, use 80 grit sandpaper, a grinder, wire brush or a Dual Action sander to scuff the entire mounting surface to remove all coatings and oxidation until the Seakeeper Ride Controller area is a rough surface with no impurities for the approved two-part adhesive to adhere to.

Please be sure to follow the adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations for primer and other surface preparation requirements on aluminum hulls.
