(25 mm) from the edge of the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> to provide the necessary clearance for the swing of the motor power cable during the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span>\u2019s precession.\u00a0Clearances aft of the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> are shown to provide access for regular scheduled maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:25px\">Safety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Safety-Symbols.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1445\" width=\"488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/wp-content\/uploads\/Safety-Symbols.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/wp-content\/uploads\/Safety-Symbols-768x218.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">There is a large torque about the gimbal axis when the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> is precessing. <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> cover panels are provided to prevent personnel or equipment from contacting the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> while it is in operation. These covers should not be stepped on, or have anything placed on top. The covers should always be in place during operation. If it is ever necessary to access the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> while the flywheel is spinning, the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> must be locked at the display to stop the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> from precessing. <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> regular scheduled maintenance should only be performed by authorized personnel when the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> is locked and the flywheel is at 0 RPM.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">The <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> and related structure should be treated with the same respect one gives a high-speed rotating propeller or engine shaft.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:25px\">Noise\/Soundproofing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> noise has been measured under steady state conditions (no wave load) in <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span>&#8216;s lab and in our test boat. The steady state noise is typically in the range of 66-68 dB un-weighted. As the frequencies emitting the highest sound pressures are low (like other marine machinery), it is recommended that the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> be installed in an enclosed space such as a machinery space, lazarette, or bilge.
