The ground cable should be installed on the inside rear of the foundation as shown below.<strong> If possible, install ground cable prior to installing the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> into the vessel.<\/strong> If there is no access to the ground stud from below the rear of the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> once installed, the rear cover, upper rear cover, and GCM bracket will need to be removed to access the ground stud from above the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"935\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ground-Lug-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12452\" style=\"width:468px;height:276px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ground-Lug-1.jpg 935w, https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ground-Lug-1-768x453.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 935px) 100vw, 935px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><strong>Figure 23 \u2013 <\/strong><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ground Stud on Inside Rear Foundation (View from below <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span>)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>NOTE: USE ONLY THIS LOCATION FOR GROUNDING THE SEAKEEPER TO THE VESSEL GROUND.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Install Ground Cable (10 AWG or 6.0 mm<sup>2<\/sup>, Customer-supplied) from the M6 brass ground stud on the <br>    <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> rear brace to a suitable vessel ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>EN\/IEC 60204-1:2016, Clauses 6.3.3 and 8.2.3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ABYC E-11 July 2021, Clauses 11.5.2 and 11.17<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Ground connection should be made with vessel bonding system, if available. However, the ground is not <br>    referring specifically to a bonding system but for outboard boats generally refers to the outboard engine <br>    negative terminal. Per ABYC E-11 (2018), Clause 11.5.2.7.4: <em>If the<\/em> <em>negative side of the DC system is to be <\/em><br>    <em>connected to the ground, the connection shall be made only<\/em> <em>from the engine negative terminal, or its bus, <\/em><br>    <em>to the DC grounding bus. This connection shall be<\/em> <em>used only as a means of maintaining the negative side of <\/em><br>    <em>the circuit at ground potential and is not<\/em> <em>to carry current under normal operating conditions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.
