Approximately 3 ft (1 m) is routed inside the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> frame.<br>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If installing cables NOT provided by <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, ensure the folowing:<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cable lengths do not exceed 29.5 ft (9 m)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cable gauge is 2 AWG or larger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cables bound together but not coiled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When connecting aftermarket cables to the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> motor drive, observe the following:<br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure terminal stacks include flat washers, split-lock washers, and hex head screws that came with the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Torque battery terminal screws to 97 in-lbs (11 Nm).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify lock washers seated flat and lugs cannot rotate (See Figure 12A).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"433\" height=\"236\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/wp-content\/uploads\/Properly-torqued-terminal-SM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18543\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><strong>Figure 12A<\/strong> &#8211; Properly torqued battery terminals<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Conductor length may be increased, but <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">changing from 2 AWG to larger wire size does not allow longer length than 30 ft (9 m) each.<\/span> The length limit is required to limit the inductance from the high current conductors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the shortest length and most direct route to the battery bank as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bind positive (B+, red) &amp; negative (B-, black) conductors together throughout entire length and do not coil.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect positive conductor (B+, red) through dedicated over-current protection device (customer supplied) and a dedicated isolation switch (customer supplied) then directly to battery positive terminal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect negative conductor (B-, black) directly to battery negative terminal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\" id=\"block-7156b3e0-3255-4e5f-ae8d-3dbf74c32b75\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SEAKEEPER-2-2AWG-Conductor-Connections-At-Circuit-Breaker-and-Battery.jpg\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is SEAKEEPER-2-2AWG-Conductor-Connections-At-Circuit-Breaker-and-Battery.jpg\" style=\"width:537px;height:266px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><strong>Figure 12B \u2013 <\/strong>2 AWG Conductor Connections at Circuit Breaker and Battery<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"7\">\n<li>If the 2 AWG high current 12 V power input conductors are shortened or lengthened, use heavy-duty eyelet (closed end) terminal such as Molex 19221-0235 and follow instructions on <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> Drawing No. 90470 \u2013 <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> 2 Cable Block Diagram, sheet 2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The bare wire strands should extend fully into the barrel of the heavy-duty eyelet and be crimped in two places if possible then sealed with double-wall heat shrink tubing.
