{"id":10345,"date":"2022-09-13T15:54:23","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T15:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/seakeeper-9-7hd-installation-manual-90222-9-copy\/electrical-installation\/electrical-equipment-ground-connections\/"},"modified":"2023-03-07T16:27:15","modified_gmt":"2023-03-07T16:27:15","slug":"electrical-equipment-ground-connections","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/seakeeper\/seakeeper-9-installation-manual-rev10\/electrical-installation\/electrical-equipment-ground-connections\/","title":{"rendered":"3.3  Electrical Equipment Ground Connections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:25px\">3.3.1  <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> to Vessel Ground Connection Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Connect the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> foundation to vessel ground, as shown in Figure 8.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install Cable 6 (10 AWG or 6 mm<sup>2<\/sup>, Customer supplied) from the M6 brass ground stud on the <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> rear brace to a suitable vessel ground. <br>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>EN\/IEC 90204-1 Clauses 6.3.3 and 8.2.3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ABYC E-11 July 2018 Clauses 11.5.2 and 11.16.1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ground connection should be made with vessel bonding system, if available. However, the ground is not  referring specifically to a bonding system but for outboard boats generally refers to the outboard engine negative terminal. Per ABYC E-11 (2018), Clause 11.5.2.7.4: <em>If the<\/em> <em>negative side of the DC system is to be connected to the ground, the connection shall be made only<\/em> <em>from the engine negative terminal, or its bus, to<\/em> <em>the DC grounding bus.
