Mask around the mounting location and the bottom of the boat. The tape will help keep the surrounding gelcoat clean of adhesive. The inside of the Cable Gland should be covered to avoid adhesive from entering the gland, particularly when installing with a Concealed Cable Entry as indicated in <a href=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/mechanical-installation-manual-750-1500-375a-and-525a\/10-drill-for-cable-entry\/10-1-concealed-cable-entry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Section 10.1<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"625\" height=\"442\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-517.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14042\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure 64 \u2013 Tape Masking off Gel Coat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tape the top, side, and bottom edges of the Wedge Pack Assembly. On the bottom, cover the gap between the Transom Plate and the Actuator Plate while leaving the angled portions of the Transom Plate exposed as shown below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTES:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For concealed cable entry, place tape on the Cable Gland Tube so that adhesive does not enter and prevent a smooth, watertight installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Placing tape on the inside of the oval holes will make it easier to clean adhesive from this area and allow for smoother adjustment of the Wedge Pack angle in the future if desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"722\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-560.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14569\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"762\" height=\"622\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/750-Wedge-Pack-with-Tape-Bottom.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14571\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Figure 65 &#8211; Tape on Wedge Pack<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mounting face of the Wedge pack has been masked off during the coating process and will appear a different color from the gloss black finish of the other parts in the kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ride equipment supplied with PEO coatings, which show a white or gray matte color:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wipe the mounting face of the Wedge Pack down with denatured alcohol using plain white paper towels to remove oil\/surface contaminants.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>For <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ride equipment supplied with Alodine conversion coating, which shows as a golden yellow gloss color:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wipe the mounting face of the Wedge Pack down with denatured alcohol using plain white paper towels to remove oil\/surface contaminants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abrade the mounting face of the Wedge Pack with a scouring pad (Scotch Brite) to a point where the coating is dull and there are scratch marks evident across the full surface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Again wipe the mounting face of the Wedge Pack with denatured alcohol using plain white paper towels to remove debris. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"873\" height=\"311\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-644.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17044\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-644.png 873w, https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-644-768x274.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 873px) 100vw, 873px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Figure 66 &#8211; Example of correctly scuffed Alodine coating (left) compared to unscuffed surface (right)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Please note these solvents will distort the aesthetic quality of the gloss black parts if they spill.
