The captain must always be in control and operate the vessel in a safe manner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sea Trial will require operation in both Auto and Manual Modes. We suggest operating in manual mode first to determine a safe speed so that the boat can be operated in sea conditions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Please head the following recommendations during the sea trial:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:upper-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep the heading to waves consistent when recording each heading\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep boat speed consistent\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attempt to keep the sea state as consistent as possible, avoid obstructions such as\u00a0<ol><li>Bridges\u00a0<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Inlets\u00a0<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Docks and piers\u00a0<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Upwellings\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sudden changes in water depth\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid wakes\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allow approximately 2 minutes of operation for each heading and <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> Ride Status selected.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each Heading NEEDS BOTH Manual and Auto recording.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heading-<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>See the graphic below for representation of each heading.Will show the headings that will need to be pre-selected before having the vessel move in that direction. Once the recording begins, the heading cannot be changed until it is stopped.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"904\" height=\"361\" src=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-614.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16371\" style=\"width:514px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-614.png 904w, https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-614-768x307.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 904px) 100vw, 904px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SEA CONDITIONS<\/strong> &#8211;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While we would like to have&nbsp;accurate information from a weather service or app, the captain\u2019s estimate is appropriate for inputting these fields.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Wave Height<\/strong> Using the + &amp; -, indicate Wave Height in feet\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wave Period<\/strong> Using the + &amp; -, indicate Wave Period in seconds\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ride Status <\/strong>will indicate if the system is Manual or Auto. <span translate=\"no\"><span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span><\/span> Ride can be manipulated on and off on this page.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Speed (MPH)<\/strong> will indicate the speed the vessel is moving. Maintain this speed the whole time you are doing your sea trial for more accurate data.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recording Status<\/strong> \u2013 The START and STOP buttons will begin and end segments of recording. Once the timer has started, the test length of 90 seconds will count down. It is possible to stop the recording, change the Ride Status to Manual or Auto, and use your keypad to add some operator bias during the recording.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ride engineers will see precisely what inputs are made to the <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ride system during the recording, with indicators for all the inputs to the Sea Trial Page as well as the boat\u2019s motions. By reviewing those motions, we will compare the boats rolling and pitching with <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ride on and <span translate=\"no\">Seakeeper<\/span> Ride off to develop the sea trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are ready to begin, select each of the Headings, Sea Conditions, and Ride Status. When the boat is up to the desired speed select \u2018Start\u2019 in Recording Status.
