Fiberglass Hulls &#8211; Abrading Gel Coat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><br>Note: This section is only for new build installations at the boat original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or for boats that meet the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Purchased directly from the OEM.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Less than 6 months old.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Known history with virgin gel coat. The boat must never have been painted, repaired, or modified in any way.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If the boat does not meet these requirements, or if there is any uncertainty, follow&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/manuals.seakeeper.com\/ride\/seakeeper-ride-mechanical-installation-manual\/6-prepare-hull\/6-6-grind-old-construction-only\/\">Section 8.6<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sand down the gel coat with 60 grit sandpaper to remove the gloss surface.
